One of my life adventures being HIV+, was volunteering self to be one of the panelists on Channel NewsAsia’s weekly show, Talking Point. Of course, I presented under a veil of anonymity because well, I still do have a career to worry about once I graduate from university.
This episode’s topic deals with HIV at the workplace and how various companies, self help organisations and individuals (like me) are working hard to debunk the myths and misconceptions of HIV/AIDS in the general populace as well as in the workforce, and hope that one day, HIV Stigma will be Removed.
“For a man who doesn’t spend a lot of time on reflection, Johnson seems a bit overwhelmed as he considers the enormity of what he’s accomplished: he has shown the world what it means to live—fully—with HIV.”—
This is my first blog entry as POZboy from Singapore. I am HIV positive and I am here on a mission. I aim to spread awareness of the burgeoning and pressing issue of HIV/AIDS in our Singaporean youth, be they LGBT or heterosexual.
Every youth has the right to know more about responsible sexual practices and they have every right to be educated in the language that suits them best, in order to stay healthy, and happy for the good of everyone.
Wish me luck and let us all work together to bring down the rates of HIV infection in our country. Godspeed!
